LADIES’ HOCKEY

PL'AY IN THE CHAMPIONSHIPS By Telegraph.—Press Association. Titnaru, September 3. The ladies’ hockey tournament was continued to-day. The weather in the morning was bright, but- there was a strong nor’-wester blowing which greatly upset the play. The wind dropped in the afternoon, however, and games were contested under pleasant conditions. As a result of the day’s play, Otago A and .Southland each have three wins to their credit in Section 1. They meet to-mor-row, and the game should be a great one. Tn Section 2, Ruahine-Dannevirke and Canterbury are also so far unbeaten. These teams will meet to-morrow, so a guide will then be had to the probable section winners.

To-day’s results are as follow: —Section 1: Southland 4, Wellington 1; Eastern B 7, South Canterbury B 0; Otago AO. Bush 2. Section 2: Canterbury 1, Eastern A 0; Rotorua 3, South Canterbury A 2; North Otago 5, Otago B 1.
