HICKMAN’S APPEAL FOR REHEARING DENIED (L'uited Service.) (Ree. August 3. 7.35 p.m.) San Francisco, August 2. The California Appeal Court Ims denied the second appeal of Hickman for a rehearing. Defendant's attorneys promise to carry the case to the United States Supreme Court. If unsuccessful Hickman may pay the penalty before Christmas. [Edward Hickman was convicted last February of the murder of Marion Parker, at Los Angeles, and sentenced to be hanged.]
