There will be the usual four preliminaries. and the programme promises to provide an excellent night's entertainment. Immediately after the contest Carroll will proceed to Christchurch, where he is due to meet Casey in a return match on the night of the Grand National, and much interest is being taken in the match in the southern city. Purdy is very anxious to try conclusions again with Fairhall, and there is a prospect of the local association getting Fairhall to come tq x Wellington.
