TO BE REMOVED TO SOUTH OF RIVER ROAD BRIDGE TO BE CONSTRUCTED (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, August 1. The London County Council yesterday approved the scheme of the Ministry of Transport for the construction of a road bridge at Charing Cross and tlie removal of the Charing Cross station to the south side of the river. The estimated cost of the scheme, including the building of a new embankment on the river front, will be £11,930,000. The council’s approval is subject to a grant from the Road Fund of 75 per cent, of tlie actual expenditure being made applicable to the whole scheme. The council’s liability for its share of the scheme’s cost and for the reconditioning of Waterloo Bridge, which forms part of the scheme, is restricted to £3,2 i 9,000.
