Application for relief in the case of a lease which has expired before the amendment. comes into force is to be made within three months of the passing of the Bill, and in the case of any other lease within three months of the refusal of th lessor to grant a renewal —or within three months of the commencement ot the Act, whichever period is allowed to expire. GOVERNMENT MEASURES TWELVE BILLS INTRODUCED Twelve Government Bills were introduced in the House of Representatives yesterday by Governor-General s Message. These were: — Mental Defectives. Surveyors’ Institute Amendment. Surveyors’ Registration. Hanmer Crown Leases. Statutory Land Charges Registration Municipal Corporations Amendment. Property Law Amendment Chirst’s College (Canterbury). Rabbit Nuisance. Education Reserves. Orchard and. Garden Reserves. Jurisdiction of Magistrates and Justice of the Peace and Civil Cases. The three, last-named measures are consolidations.
