MEETING OF WELLINGTON UNION FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY WEEK The weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby Union was held last night, Air. J. Prendeville Pr The l Taita Club wrote withdrawing their team from the third-grade competition. The Marist Brothers’ Old Boys’ Association wrote, thanking the Union for a donation of £5 towards the McDonald accident £U The Alanawbenua Union wrote confirming August 25 as the date of the Alunawbenua v. Wellington representative match at Levin. . . . The Canterbury Union wrote, suggesting August 25 as the 7 date for the WellingtonCanterbury junior representative match at Christchurch. The letter was referred to the Junior Advisory Committee. Junior Matches. •■> ■ The Junior Advisory Committee recommended that the suggestion of the Ma.mp watu Union to play the annual representative match between the Manawatu Thirds and the Wellington Fourths be played on A lt U was l8 agreed that an endeavour should be made to arrange a third grade representative match between Wellington and 1 committee recommended that the third-class competition . should be closed as from Saturday next, and that a second round be played, and that all championship points gained by teams in the first round count for the championship. House Matches. Permission was granted to play the following house matches: —Wellington Tramway. Club v. Auckland and Christchurch Tramway Clubs, Kohn Shield competition, at Wellington, on August 28 and 30; State Fire and Accident Insurance Office v. Land Transfer and Stamp Duties Departments, on July 18. , ~ ■ Primary Schools’ Representative Team. The trial match arranged for this afternoon has been postponed, and advice as to when it will be played will be given later. Annual College Match. The annual match between Wellington College and St. Patrick’s College will be played at Athletic Park on July 25.
