SAILORS’ FRIEND SOCIETY

At the Sailors' Friend Society oh Thursdav the Central Mission’s Silver Baud, under the leadership Of Mr. 11. Baker, played tasteful items and the encores were frequent. The other performer? were Mes•lames G. Slight and A. Bunn, and Miss G. Farrell. ■ and Messrs. Jenkinson. McPherson. Miss G. Farrell was at the piano. Bight refreshments were handed round iu an interval. The competitions caused much: merriment, the prizes, of a useful natu,re. coming from Hgwke's Bay and Mrs. A. Dunn, and going to various men in port. Books were supplied to outgoing crews.
