General Pangalos, who -was declared dictator in January, 1926, was overthrown in the ensuing August, and has since been a prisoner, has been released, following a Cabinet decision to the effect that' his detention was no longer justifiable in view of the dissolution of Parliament, and consequently a commission is dealing with the case.
M. Tsaldaris, ask-
cd his attitude to the elections, declared that there was no question of election, but only a manoeuvre to lengthen. M. Venizelos's rentention of power, with the connivance of Admiral Coundouriotis (the s ident of the Re, üblic).
M. Metaxas, similarly questioned, replied that this’was not the time for words, but deeds. ' '
