SAILORS’ FRIEND SOCIETY

Merriment was the keynote at Mr. T. Fisher's concert for seafarers at the Sailors* Friend Society on Tuesday. The recalls were many, and all the items were given with taste and feeling. Light refreshments were dispensed in an interval. The performers were Mrs. Webb, the Misses G. Webb, K. Harris, Violet Jones, and Messrs. T. Fisher, C. Harris, H. Matthews, B. Holden, Comber, Spencer, and Wallis. Miss E. Harris and Mr. T. Fisher were at the piano. Mr. J. Moore, nilssioner, took for his temperance subject “Sheltering.” Pledges were again added to the books. The competitions gave opportunity to the men to exhibit their skill. Prizes came from Marton and went to nien in port.
