KHANDALLAH AFFAIRS
The annual meeting of the Khandallah Progress Association will be held In the Khandallah Public Hall to-morrow (Thursday) night at 8 o’clock. The annual report states that the association’s finances are in a very satisfactory position. During the year grants of £5 were made to the Mayor’s Unemployment Fund and to the local Volunteer Fire Brigade respectively, for equipment. Included in the balance of £f>2 Ils. 6(1. is an amount of £2l Os. 9(1., being net proceeds derived from a special concert promoted on behalf of the local brigade. Application has been made to the Fire Board for a £1 for £1 subsidy on this amount, which will be disbursed on the better equipping of the local force. The report emphasised the necessity for better and more direct access. The Volunteer Fire Brigade was now established on a sound f oo< i n g.
