MOTOR VEHICLES
TERMINATION OF LICENSES
Motorists in general will be interested in the decision given by Mr. E. Page S.M., in the Magistrate's Court yesterdav, when he announced his views concerning the interpretation of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act, 1927. Several motorists defended charges of driving unlicensed motor vehicles, and their counsel contended that the licenses really did not expire on March 31. 1928. Senior-Sergeant Scott claimed that’ last vear’s licenses expired on that date, and not a single day later. The Magistrate ruled that licenses had been issued and paid for until March 31, and that at the date of issue there was no power to grant them for a longer period. A full report of the pro'ceedings appears on page 5.
