Police cases in the Magistrate's Court yesterday were dealt with by Mr. E. Page, S.M. Frederick Reginald Walker, a labourer, aged 43, was fined £l, in default three days' imprisonment, for a third offence of drunkenness. On a charge of failing to comply with the terms of his release on probation, Arthur John Rogers, :i clerk, aged 23, Was sentenced to three months' imprisonment The probation officer -Mr. i’. I’. Mills) stated that accused'. co.iduet while on probation had not been very satisfactory. BROKEN BY-LAWS *By-law cases were dealt with by Messrs. R. W. Burbidge and G. E. Fownes, J. P.'s. Driving without a license cost IVyn Flaws £ 1 Not having their vehicles properly lighted cost Gerald Rosenbaum £1 IDs., William Saunders 155., Wyn Flaws and James Pearson, 10s. each. John Allan 55., and Cedric V. Aldridge, 10s. (costs only). John Roy Illingworth was fined 1,55. for failing to stop his car when requested. Not having a reflector on his cycle cost Cedric V. Aldridge 10s. (costs only). On charges of driving in a dangerous manner, Percy White was fined £5, Stanley Gribble £3, David M. Anderson, Walter Ballantyne, William Bowell, C. Fitzgerald, £2 each, and Fred Russell £1 10s. Eric Barrett was fined £1 for not having an efliclent silencer on his motor-cycle. Robert William Galvin was fined ss. for failing to notify change of ownership of a car. Leaving his car unattended cost Frederick A. Hansford 10s. For leaving a motor-truck unattended, James F. Steel and Ernest C. Young were each ordered to pay costs only (10s.). John W; Jenkins was fined ss. for lighting a fire in the open. Using ’ a car without endorsed certificates cost Emil C. Johnsson ss.

For using an unlicensed motor-car, John C. Raynor was ordered to pay costs only (125.), and for using unlicensed motor tracks David Rowell was fined ss.

Not having assigned number plates on his motor-car cost John It. Smith 10s. (costs only). Mary Tlckelpenny was fined ss. for allowing a chimney to catch fire. For driving through a prohibited area, Harold W. Wind was ordered to pay costs only (10s.). Bertram W, Bird was fined £1 for cutting a corner and £1 for failing to stop when requested. . C. J. Cartwright was fined £1 for not having a driver’s license.
