PETITION BY FEILDING CONTRACTOR.

A petition in bankruptcy has beeen filed at. the office of the Palmerston North Deputy Official Assignee (Mr. C. Dempsy) by Victor Ivo Morphy, a contractor, of Feilding. Debts are owing to unsecured creditors amounting to £299 16s. 2d. and to secured creditors amounting to £6O us., making the total debts £3OO Is. 2d. Assets are valued at £56, thus leaving a deficiency of £304 Is. 2d.
The following are the principal unsecured creditors: A. Hopwood (Palmerston North), £l6 165.; I. Hope and Co. (Feilding), £ll 75.; A. Broadbelt and Co., Ltd.. (Feilding), £3l 2s. Id.; W., Hansen (Kimbolton), £36 10s. 3d.; W. J. Port and Co. (Cheltelham), £l5 175.; Motor .Supplies Service (Hawera), £l2 2s. (id.; W. 11. Bain and Co.,' Ltd. (Feilding), £55 17s. 3d.; J. R. Edwards (Feilding), £6l Is. The Feilding Sash and Door Company holds a security of £65 on n debt amounting to £6O ss. In a sighed statement to the Deputy Official Assignee, bankrupt attributes his failure to his having commenced business with insufficient capital, to bad luck, and to the general depression which has existed, especially in his trade.
