NATURE STUDY

TEACHERS’ REFRESHER COURSE. A refresher course in nature study for teachers was held at the Kelburn Training College last week, and was very successful. Upwards of 40 teachers attended, giving the first week of vacation to the course in school gardening, forestry, common weeds, native and exotic plants, and insects, all of which wer» dealt with in such a way as to stimulate the interest of the teachers. The general direction of the class was under Inspector W. G. Blackie, and the instructors included Messrs. McKinnon (agricultural instructor at the Training College), Lawton (agricultural instructor under the Education Board, and Price (physical instructor ).
