Postmaster Charged.—ln the Magistrate’s Court at Wairoa yesterday, M illiam .Tames Marslin, postmaster at Tuai, was charged with stealing £6O, the property of the Government. He was remanded for a week. Bail was allowed accused being ordered to report daily to the police.—Press Assn.
Sudden Death.— The death occurred at Gisborne suddenly yesterday morning of Edmond Dougherty, coal and wood merchant, aged 64 years Dougherty complained of pains in the chest and abdomen. and later was found dead in a wood yard.—Press Assn.

Jeffrey, the Sydney Communist, wlio is attending the Red International at Moscow, writing to the secretary of the Communist Party, describes how the congress is actnely concerning itself with the trade Union movement all over. the. world. He says that special attention is being given to Australia and New Zealand.—Press Assn.
