Truth is said to be stranger than fiction, aud coincidence at times is remarkable (says the Auckland “Star”). A proud Newmarket grandfather called at the office the other morning to relate interesting facts about his two new granddaughters. A few days ago his son’s wife, who lives nt Newmarket, h:..l a baby girl, and the glad news was cabled to a married daughter in Sydney, the message reading: “Baby girl, all well.” Scarcely had the message gone when a cablegram arrived at Newmarket, reading: “Baby girl, all well. “We thought that they were handing our cablegram back to us at first,” said the Newmarket resident, "but when we made inquiries there was no doubt that the two cablegrams had crossed on the way. After accepting the congratulations that were extended to him, grandfather said that the real surprise about the thing was that they had had no information in Auckland to lead them to anticipate a happy domestic event in Sydney.
