SOVIET LEADERS UNEASY AS TO CONSEQUENCES OF ARREST STEP TO PREVENT EXTRADITION TO HUNGARY

London, May 7.
“The Times” correspondent at Riga says that the Soviet leaders are exceedingly uneasy regarding the consequences of the arrest of Bela Kun in Vienna. Fearing a delicate situation, they have ordered the Soviet representatives at Vienna to do their utmost in an effort to prevent Bela Kun’s extradition to Hungary. The Communist International, in a meeting of protest, urged energetic interference, if the Austrians handed over Kun to the “Hungarian hangmen.” COMMUNISTS ARRESTED IN EGYPT DANGEROUS ACTIVITIES (“Times" Cables.) London, May 7. The Cairo correspondent of “The Times” says that the authorities have arrested 21 Russian, Italian, and Greek Communists in Cairo and Alexandra. Those arrested were regarded as the backbone of a revival of Communism, and their activities had become a serious danger. Other arrests are imminent. Many documents have been seized. The arrested will be deported. RED ACTIVITY IN WALES * BAITS FOR ATHLETES (United Service.) London, May 7. The' latest form of Red activity in South Wales is that the Communists have formed a Workers’ Sports Federation and circularised cricket and football bodies. Among the baits are trips to Russia to play Soviet teams. The leading cricket and footbaU leagues have rejected the overtures. MAY .DAY PROCESSIONS RED BANNERS IN BRISBANE Brisbane, May 8. The. May Day procession was noteworthy for Red banners on which were:' “Long Live Soviet Russia,” and similar inscriptions; also the effigy of Mr. Bruce on a scaffold. DISTURBING COMMUNISTS ARRESTED IN PERTH Perth, May 8. A Communist disturbance during the May Day procession led to four Communists being arrested. Others were dispersed. «
