IMMIGRATION POLICY
CO-ORDINATION, OF EFFORT * NEEDED BRITISH SETTLERS PREFERRED (Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) Ottawa, April 19. “In the development of a sane immigration policy we must spend more money and secure co-ordination -of effort,” Sir Henry Thornton, president of the Canadaian National Railways, told the Parliamentary Immigration Committee. He preferred a maximum of British settlers. Mr. C. H. Caban, Conservative, advocated the Australian National Commission system of handling immigration. Sir Henry Thornton . believed that this would be the solution.
