GENERAL RICHARDSON

RETURNED SOLDIERS’ WELCOME. Returned soldiers and members of the Wellington executive o.f the Returned Soldiers’ Association met in the club rooms on Thursday evening to welcome General Sir George Richardson, and to extend to him good wishes for a safe return from the Geneva Conference. Colonel G. Hall, president of the Wellington R.S.A., welcomed General Rioliurdsnn as a soldier, a.nd assured him that he would always have the respect and loyalty of those men who were his comrades in the Great War, Colonel Avery, vice-president, supported Colonel Hall, and assured Sir George Richardson that every returned soldier would look forward to seeing him again, and hearing from him on some suitable occasion something of his experience as a soldier, and at Geneva in particular. Responding, Sir George Richardson spoke of his regard for the soldiers, and assured everyone present that he was, and always would he. the champion of the “under dog.” He would be pleased, he said, to meet his old comrades again on his return from Geneva, when he hoped to have an opportunity to tell them of his experience.
