ROAD PAST PATENT SLIP At the meeting of the Suburban Highways Board yesterday, Mr. A. J. Curtis asked whether the board proposed, to do anything in regard to that portion of the Evans Bay Road where it is crossed bv the rails and chains of the Patent Slip. He wanted to know if the board had any control over that bit of road, for it was time that something was done, as it was very bumpy and dangerous to heavy traffic. There had been some mention years aga of a mad round the back of the slip to avoid going across the lines. What was the position ? he asked The city solicitor said they would have to go a long way round to get a road line round the slip property. The chairman (Mr. G A. Troup) said that something was being dope in the matter.
