SUBURBAN LAND SALE
The auction sale of the Waldegrave property at Awapuni will take place in the Empire Hall, Palmerston North, on Wednesday next at 8 p.m. The property is offered under instructions from the District Public Trustee and is owned by the estate of H. R. Waldegrave, deceased. It originally came into the hands of the Waldegrave family m 1873 and has been farmed by them ever since, but the death of the late Mr. Henry Richard Waldegrave and the provisions of his will now necessitate a sale of the holding. The property is situated within two miles and a half from Palmerston North, is reached by the main Foxton Road, tar-sealed, and has been subdivided into 25 sections, ranging in area from 3 acres to 134 acres. Watered by the Mangaone Stream and the Manawatu River, the soil is composed largely of rich silt, admirably suited for heavy cultivation, whilst the contour of the property renders it for the most part dry and warm. The scheme of subdivision has been entered into with a view to providing homes for those of modest means, to whom a few acres of fertile and adaptable land will provide a competency. The sections are suitable for suburban homes, orchards, gardens and other outdoor industries which do not require a large area of land. Horse trainers should be particularly attracted, as the sections adjoin the property ot the Manawatu Racing Club, wiiose racing track is acknowledged to be a very fine one. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., in conjunction with Messrs. Bagnall and Keeble, will offer the . lots for sale. Lithographed plans and details of the terms are available on application to the auctioneers or the Public Trust Office.
