LOCAL GOVERNMENT
MEETING OF LOANS BOARD A meeting of the Local Government Loans Board was held this week at the Government Buildings, the following members being present:—Dlessrs. R. E. Hayes, I SO. (Secretary to the Treasury), chairman, R A. Anderson (Bluff Harbour Board), W. J. Holdsworth (chairman, Auckland Electric Power Board), G. A. Lewin (town clerk, Dunedin), S A. R. Mair (engineer to Rangitikei County Council). Twenty-one applications for loans, totalling £252,358, were dealt with, including five renewal loans for £51,058, and four loans for £98,800, which had been previously deferred. Sanction was given for £230,912, applications for £21,446 being declined or referred back for further information.
