“AN OUTRAGE!"

COLOUR OF A BUILDING IN LAMBTON QUAY Councillor R. McKeen drew the attention of the City Council last night to the “bilious and abominable” colour in which a certain building on Lambton Quay has been painted. He said it was an outrage, and was inclined to make him bilious whenever he saw it. Councillor M. F. Duckie said that he thought they had no jurisdiction. “The whole of Lambton Quay has been spoilt bwthe colour-of this. building,” said the Mayor, “and it is altogether opposed to aesthetic amenities. We have control of advertisements, and we should have some control in this case. It is hideous and abominable. I don’t know that we should not call on the city solicitor to Bee if we cannot protest against it.” Councillor Mitchell thought the council might have power under the Town Planning Aqt. (Laughter.).
