A letter posted at Westmere on August 11, 1910, addressed to a firm of solicitors in Wanganui, five miles away, was delivered last December (says an exchange). The membership of the firm had changed considerably in the intervening 17 years. II appears that the writer slipped the letter into a. mail box on a railway van, but the missive lodged tn a crevice, and was not noticed. It lay there for 17 years, till the van was being taken to- pieces. The postal anthorities n< once set out to find the addressees, and the fact that the meinbership of the firm had changed contributed to the complications.
