CURRENT PRICES IN THE CITY The following list of cash retail prices gives a (air indication of what is being charged over the counter in the city. The quotations do not include delivery. Suburban prices are not quoted:— Vegetables.—French beans and butter beans are 4d. and Gd. 10.. green peas are 4d. and 6d- lb.: kumeras are 4d. lb; cucumbers are Id. and 2nd each; cabbages are 2d , 3d-, and 4d. each; cauliflowers are still scarce; marrows are 3d. to 6d. each: pumpkin is 2d. lb.; red cabbages are Sd. and 4d. each; lettuce are 2d. to Id each; celery is Gd. to 1/3 per stick. carrots, turnips and parsnips are 3d. per bunch; beetroot is 3d. per bundle; onions are 3d. lb.; swedes are 2d. lb. Fish,—Oysters are 1/- doz. (opened), and Bd. doz.
