The popularity of the week-end excursions organised by the Railway Department was again in evidence over the week-end. when about two hundred passengers from Masterton and stations en route journeyed to Wellington. The opportunity of visiting • friends, taking sight-seeing tours, and enjoying the seaside resorts was greatly appreciated by the . visitors, who spoke appreciatively of the general arrangements made by the Department in running these cheap trips to the various centres and resorts.
