DEPORTATION OF ALIEN.

Gisborne, March 13. When Abdool Nabea was brought ashore from tho Argyllshire before the Magistrate’s Court again , this morning on a charge of assault, Semor-oergeaut Maclean explained that the prisoner was an alien ho would not in ordinary circumstances have bee.u allowed to land in New Zealand, but as bo bud been taken into custody there was no remedy but to bring him ashore. Assuming that a ship sailing for -Sydney would be available in about three weeks’ time, it was proposed that, accused be remanded for .a week on the present charge and be could then be taken to Wellington and shipped to Sydney,.whence he could be returned to his native laud. The police did not intend to prosecute accused on any charge, and he was asking ior a remand simply to enable (no police tp keo»> him in custody until lie could bo taken to Wellington. .The shipping company was responsible for seeing that ho was returned Io Rangoon, and the company was prepared to pay all expenses. Abdool would have to remain in police custody. ’ The remand was granted.
