VICTORIANS PLAY A DRAW EXCITING MATCH AT CHRISTCHURCH. By Teleguaph.—Pbess association. Christchurch, February 20. - A five-rinks match between the Victorian bowlers and a Christchurch team today had a most exciting finish. It was a iieek-aml-neck contest all the way, aggregates taken at different stages of the game, showing only the smallest margins, and when four rinks had finished all the bowlers gatherer round to see the fifth rink play tho last two heads, when tho scores were standing 21—12 against tho Australians. This, however, put the Victorians three points to the good on the whole match, and when they secured a single on the twentieth head, very few gave Iho local players a chance. On the last head Christchurch scored four, and the game ended in a draw, with the aggregate 100 aIL VICTORIANS ARRIVE THIS morning Five rinks of bowlers from Melbourne will arrive here from Christchurch this morning, in pursuance of their tour through New Zealand. There will be no plav this morning, but in tlie afternoon they will play the Wellington Centre ou tlie Wellington Club’s green, and in the evening will be entertained to a siuoke concert in Ihe same club’s pavilion. There will be another free morning (o-morrow, and iu tho afternoon the visitors will be driven round in motorcars to the Eastbourne Club’s green, where they will meet another relay of rinks representing the Wellington Centre. Should they feel so disposed there will be a marine motor drive iu the evening. As the male members of the team will be at the smoke concert this evening the ladies of tlie party will attend one of the local theatres.
