TO-DAY’S WEATHER FORECAST

Meteorological Office, Wellington, February 17, 4 p.m. A slight westerly low-pressure wave is passing southward of New Zealand, and a moderate cyclone is situated over the central Tasman Sea. The forecast is for northerly wind, fresh to strong, south of New Plymouth and Castlepoint, later changing to southerly. Rather rough sea on the East Coast south of Castlepoint, elsewhere moderate. Weather fair to cloudy and warm at first, with isolated showers, later becoming unsettled and cooler generally, with some rain but only scattered in the North Island.
