REMARKABLE SCENES STREETS THRONGED WITH CHEERING CROWDS By Telegraph.— PSEss Association. Copyright. (Rec. February 13, 7.35 p.m.) London, February 12. Remarkable scenes were witnessed on Dlr. W. T. Cosgrave’s return to Dublin. Aeroplanes escorted the vessel from fifty miles out, and on arrival at Kingston a salute of nineteen guns was fired Dlr. Cosgrave motored to Dublin, and at the boundary of the city proper was met by an enormous crowd in procession, including several bands, Dlr. Cosgrave’s car being preceded and followed by detachments of cavalry. Thus through the thronged streets, and amidst deafening cheers, he proceeded, with illuminated aeroplanes flying overhead. His arrival in O’Connell Street was signalised by the discharge of rockets, while from Nelson’s Pillar searchlights-swept the city. In a brief speech from a temporary platform every reference made by Dlr. Cosgrave to America was cheered.

OFFICIAL WELCOME AT SOUTHAMPTON Rugby, February 11. The President of the Irish Free State Dail arrived at Southampton yesterday on his return from his tour of the United States and Canada. He was officially welcomed by the Dlayor of Southampton.—British Official Wireless
