MANAWATU COUNCIL. Palmerston North, February 13. In the absence of Mr. A. M. Ongley, Air. W. J Anderson acted in the capacity of chairman at this evening’s meeting of the Manawatu Cricket Council. The Mercantile Cricket League, Wellington, wrote asking for a match against a Manawatu eleven on Easter Saturday and Alonday. It was decided to accept the dates suggested by the league, the game to be played at Palmerston North. February 21 aud 22 were confirmed as the days for the Hawke Cup match against Wanganui, at Wanganui. "The Hawke’s Bay Cricket Association wrote asking if it were possible for the council to send a junior team to play a Hawke’s Bay eleven at Napier at Easter. The secretary was instructed to reply regretting that such a match was not possible. The junior representative selectors were instructed to go into the matter of choosing an eleven to pay the visit due to the Wanganui association. HAWKE CUP TEAAI.

Palmerston North, February 13 Mr. A. Al. Ongley has chosen the following to practise in preparation for the Hawke Cup match at Wanganui on February 21 and 22: —AIcVicar, Alullins, Norris, Gallichan, Leet, Ongley, Pegden, Black, Diederich, \oung, Pacey, Spring, AlcSweeney, Birch, O’Keefe, Fletcher.
