STORM IN NEW SOUTH WALES
— TOWNSHIP FLOODED
DAMAGE BY TORNADO IN OTHER PARTS
Sydney, February 6. A severe wind and thunderstorms were experienced in the Riverina district at the week-end for the second' time within a few weeks. The township of Henty was flooded with two inches of rainfall which fell in half an hour. Considerable damage was done to the roads. At Y'erong Creek a tornado unroofed several business houses and telephone and telegraph lines were blown down. At Uranquinty roofs were lifted off sheds and trees uprooted. Manv fallowed paddocks were badly scoured. Fruit trees suffered much damage. A cloudburst near Cdrobimilla caused a w-ashawav of four or five chains of railway. An earthquake at Wellington caused people to rush into the streets. Windows were broken and plaster shaken from the ceilings.
