The Minister of Industries and Commetce (Hon. A. D. McLeod) left for Nelson last night to attend a conference of master grocers. The Minister will return to Wellington to-morrow. Among the visitors to Wellington are Mr. J. R. Siddle, of Newcastle-on-Tyne, England, who is a member of the Gosforth Bowling Club, and is looking forward to greeting the bowlers who are to leave for England this week, as he will meet them again on his own green in a few months’ time.

Lady Chamberlain, wife of the British Foreign Secretary, who has been suffering with neuritis, has been ordered a sea voyage, and will leave for South America on February 15, says a British Official Wireless message.

At lost night’s meeting of the executive ot the Wellington Show Association. a motion of condolence was passed with Mr. C.. J. B. Norwood, a member of the executive, who recently suffered a bereavement in his family.

At a meeting of the council of the New Zealand Golf Association last night, Major Conway resigned his membership of the council owing to his transfer to Taranaki. Mr. M. J. Crombie was elected a member of the council in his place.
