+ Foxton, February 6.

Mr H. Hornblow, stationmaster, lias received notice of promotion and transfer to Nelson Miss A. Holst, of Wanganui, arrived in Foxton on Monday, where she commenced teaching rt the local District High School. The Foxton Girl Guides returned home last week after spending a week under canvas at the seaside in charge of District Commissioner A. Kebbell, of Levin and Mrs. R M Stanley, of Foxton. The weather was ideal, aud an enjoyable time was spent.
