Dr. Lyon spent the week-end in Palmerston North, on his way to New Plymouth.

Mr. A. Hill, of Dannevirke, who is temporarily managing a business in Masterton, will leave shortly for Sydney accompanied by his wife, and daughter. Mr. 11. Cowan, of Pahiatua, is visiting Wellington. Mr. R. J. Mackie and Mr. J. Bruce, of Palmerston North, are visitors to Wanganui. Mr. A. Kaye-Thomson, of Feilding, has taken up residence in Onga Onga. Mr. H. G. Warburton, and Mr. A. Ward are Wellington visitors to Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Spilman, of Paraparaumu beach, are on an extended tour of the North Island.

Mr. E. Lash, of New Plymouth, has consented to nomination for the Taranaki Cricket Association as northern selector, to act in conjunction with Mr. H. R. Penny (south) for the purpose of selecting the Taranaki team to meet the Australians. Mr. Jackson has been appointed treasurer to the northern division, in succession to Mr. B. Lash, who is under notice of transfer to Wanganui.

Mr. G. M. Townsend, of Hawera, has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society of Great Britain and Ireland.

Mr. and Mrs. IS. K. Cameron have returned from a motor trip to Poverty Bay

Messrs. H. G. Whitehead, ALA., and C. T. Harris, 8.A., have recently been appointed to the staff of the Hawera Technical School.

Mr. C. H. Bowater, headmaster of the Gonville School, tendered his resignation on Saturday to the Gonville School Committee. The resignation was accepted with regret, and it was decided to take steps to recognise in a practical way his long and valuable services in the cause of Mr. G. Spriggins, of Wanganui, has left for Wellington. TIME FLIES.
