A SUGGESTION TO THE CRICKET ASSOCIATION
Sir,—l have a small suggestion to offer with reference to the approaching cricket matches against Auckland and Australia. -Many of those interested in the game are detained at work during most of the day, but like to witness the play for an hour or so after work. These afterwork spectators, however, have to pay the same sum for admission as those who have been present throughout the day. This undoubtedly keeps away many "who would attend, but are not prepared to pay the full price of admission, when there is such a short time left before stumps are drawn for the day. Particularly does this apply to the younger enthusiasts. My suggestion is that after, say, 5 n.m., the public should be admitted for half price. This reduction, which would have no effect on the gate, would be, greatly appreciated by many supporters, and would help to popularise the game. —I am, etc., "CRICKETER."
