AMATEUR ATHLETICS
MEETING AT LOWER HUTT. What should prove a most successful athletic meeting will bo held on the Lower Unit Recreation Ground ou Saturday, commencing at 2.30 p.m., by the Lower Hutt Amateur Athletic ami Cyclo Club. Large fields will coutest every event, ami the presence of many notable performers should make for keen finishes. Lcadbetter ami Jenkins will be amongst the starters iu the 100 yards event, Allan, New Zealand champion, in tho half-mile ami 140 yards, Misses Swinburne and Collins in tho ladies races, and Flett ami Carswell in the cycling events. A race which should prove of special interest is tho 100 yards championship for Hull Valley boys, for which a special prize will be given. I’ost entries will Is: taken on the ground for putting the shot, javelin, and high ami long jump events.
