TOWN AND COUNTRY Mr. and Mrs. D. Fletcher, of Queensland, are visitors to Wanganui. Miss L. Loughnan has left Palmerstop North to reside in Christchurch. Miss Sybil Brooke-Taylor, Kilbirnie, is staying with Mrs. A. Brooke-Taylor, Bainesse. Miss Ivy Corby, of Hastings, is on a holiday to New Plymouth. t Miss Fay, of “Ronsey,” Hampshire (England), is the guest of Miss Warburton, Palmerston North. Mr. and Mrs. E C. Stratton, of Wellington, were recent visitors to Hawera, en route to Auckland.

Miss Audrey Brooke-Taylor (Bainesse) is on holiday in Wellington, and is staying at Karaka Bay. Misses Gunter have returned to Palmerston North after a holiday at Taihape. Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Lockyer, of. Napier, and Mrs J. Lockver, of Hastings, are visitors to Wellington. Dr. Kathleen Curtis, of Nelson, is a visitor to Napier. .Mr. and Mrs. Carter, of Westport, are visitors to Manaia, and are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. N. Davis. Mr. and Mrs. Trengrove, of Wellington, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Tricklebank, of Porangahau. Mrs. Eliot Warburton, of Palmerston North, is spending a holiday at Paekakariki. ‘

Mr. and Mrs. A. Guv, Miss F. Guy, and Miss E. Dundas are Palmerston North residents who will leave for England next week bv the Rimutaka. Mr. and Mrs W. L. Fitzherbert have returned to Palmerston North after a holiday at New Plymouth.

Miss Shilliby, Miss Millar, and Miss Edmunds, who have been appointed to positions on the staff of Woodford House, Havelock North, and who arrived in Auckland by the Arawa on Sunday, are expected at Hastings this week.

Mrs. A. E. Russell, of. Fitzherbert, Palmerston North, is staying with her daughter, Mrs. C. Birch, of Wellington. Miss Dorothy Bee has returned to Lower Hutt after spending the week-end with Mrs. Leslie Bennett, of Renall Street, Masterton. Mrs. Percy - Cameron has returned to Wellington ffom a visit to her brother, Mr. Guv Lewis, Estcourt, Alfredton. Mrs. D. White, of Wellington, has been visiting her mother, Mrs. F. C. Lewis, Masterton. Miss Jessie McLaren, of Masterton, is staving at Lvall Bay. , Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Wood, of Masterton, are visiting Wellington. Mrs. A. D. Low, of Masterton, is spending the school holidays with her family, at Seatoun, Wellington. Mrs. H. H. Kebble, “Ngarata,” Alfredton, is holiday making at Day's Bav, Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Lord,, of Masterton, are on a yachting trip to the Sounds.

The wedding was celebrated at the Methodist Church, Masterton, of Alice, voungest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Pond, Masterton, to Clarence, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. R. JMclver, ’Masterton. Mr. M. Donald was best mam Mr. McGill, of Lower Hutt, has returned from a week-end spent at Masterton. Mr. Harry Smith, a very old resident of Grevtown, has died at the age of 76. Mr. Smith was one of the drivers of the old Cobb and Co.’s coaches, between Wellington and Masterton. He drove for Air Hastwell, who was a pioneer in coaching in the early days. His wife predeceased him some years ago, but he leaves an adult family and. a number of grandchildren living in Greytown
