WEEK-END EXCURSION TO MOUNT EGMONT

Ono of .tbs most ambitious wcek-er,-. end excursions arrangeil by the Railways Department is that to Mziunt Egmont for next Saturday and Sunday. A special train will leave Wellington at 12.55 p.m. on Saturday for Hawera. Sunday will be spent on the mountain, and excursionists will arrive back in AVellington at 11.40 p.m. that night. Special trams and buses will meet the train at that hour. The train may be joined at other stations, and passengers need not return immediately, but the tickets _will he available for a few following days. Those making the trip will have an opportunity of traversing practically halt the West Coast of the North Island, a good viouortion of the journey being through the province of Taranaki. The usual arrangements to enable passengers to secure accommodation nt Hawera are available, nnd excursionist# should take advantage of the facility. As a number of visitors have expressed a desire to visit Wanganui for a week-end, arrangements have been also made to take passengers to and from that town by the Mt Egmont excursion train.
