HEAVY-WEIGHT ELIMINATION CONTESTS. New York, January 19. Tom Heeney will meet Jack Delaney cn March 1 in the first of the heavyweight elimination contests. Jack Sharkey and Johnny Risko will fight in the second bout on March 15. The winners will then meet. HEENEY-SHARKEY SCORE CARDS. New York, January 19. The Heeney-Sharkey score cards, show that the referee and the two judges differed in nine rounds, but agreed in three. Referee Denning gave Heeney five rounds. Sharkey four, and called four even. He voted for Heeney. Judge Patrick gave each five, and two even, and voted for a draw. Judge Kelley awarded Heeney five rounds. SiiiirKey six, and one draw, and voted for Sharkey.—Sydney "Sun” Cable. GRIFFITHS-TAYLOR FIGHT. On Tuesday night the Wellington Boxing Association will hold its first tournament of the season at the Town Hall. In the professional contest between Taylor and Griffiths, patrons should witness a fast and evenly contested bout. The two fought a draw over ten rounds at Napier during the Christmas holidays. and the contest was voted one of the fastest and most exciting seen there for vears. Considerable interest attaches to the amateur preliminaries. Two Olvmnic nominees will lie seen in action, and with a trip to Europe in view they c.nn he depended upon .to be at their best. Gardner, of Christchurch. who is to try conclusions with Cleverley, has not been scon in action in championship events since his somewhat sensational defeat of Pocoek in Christchurch in 1925. while Tarsen is to meet O’Sullivan. The box plan closes on Tuesday afternoon.
