ABANDONED BY RELATIVES

YOUTH BEFORE COURT. A seventeen-year-old youth was charged before Mr. E. Page, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday with being an idle and disorderly person with insufficient lawful means of support. It was stated that the youth had been abandoned by his relations because of his lazy habits, and that he was destitute. In the opinion of the Probation Officer 'Mr. T. P. Mills), the boy might become a useful citizen if he were sent to the Weraroa Training Farm. He could be sent on to a Borstal institution if ho did not improve there. 1 lie youth was remanded to appear in the Childi-fn’s Court to-day.
