WAIPUKURAU SHOW
FIXTURE HELD IN FINE WEATHER PRINCIPAL AWARDS CHAMPIONSHIPS IN HORSE CLASSES Dominion Special Service. Waipukurau, June 20. '1 ho members of the Waipukurau Agricultural and Pastoral Association are justly proud o£ their annual shows, the eiglilceuth of which was held at the Waipukurau Racecourse, in fine weather, to-day. Despite the total elimination of tho pig, and drastic reductions in various other classes, the total number or entries compares favourably with P'O* vious years. The nature of the land surrounding Waipukurau is essentially sheep farming land, and consequently it is only natural that sheqp classes are catered for almost to tho point ot the exclusion of cattle classes, of which there were only three. Both in quantity and quality the sheep ami horses entered this year are an improvement on last year. .. A very popular attraction was the wliippet 'racing, which was held in Waipukurau for the first time.
