LYALL BAY CARNIVAL
The fine weather yesterday was well spent by the many people who visited the Lyall Bay carnival, on the recreation ground. The carnival is in aid of a children’s play area for the district, ana has been very well patronised by . tne public. Tho fair ends to-morrow night. On Saturday afternoon there will be « kite-flying competition for boys, a longhair competition for girls, as well as a baby show, and to-night and to-morrow night the dance tent will have the full jazz orchestra. These two days aro Ihe last opportunities for riding in the miniature railway, the aeroplane swings, ana the merry-go-round, as well as tho final chances of seeing the coloured moving pictures in the camera obscura. ine variety of side-shows is a notable feature of the gala, and crowds collect nightly to sec the victim of the “Ducltem receive a “hath” as someone strikes tne bar that operates the trap.
