A proposal of no little interest has recently been made, it being announced that there is on loot a scheme to extend the electric power generation plant at the tamous Hukti Falls the object being to light the Wairakei and dispose of the surplus current io Taupo (states an exchange). By reason of the fact that scores of visitors, many of whom own cottages in the popular fishing township patronise Taupo during the season. Hie proposal is causing no little discussion It is understood that representations will be made to the Taupo Town Board b.v certain Napier residents to call a public meeting in Taupo during' the height; of the holiday season to enable the project to be fully discussed.
