LARGE CLASSES
PROTESTS BY SCHOOL COMMITTEE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston North, Novethber 1. At a meeting of the Central School Committee to-night a lengthy discussion ensued on the question of school classes being too large, aud the following resolution was carried .-—“Being persuaded that the best interests of the children and ultimate welfare of the Dominion are being hindered by the present policy of having large classes, this committee feels that the time has arrived when the schools of the Dominion should be more fully staffed than at present, and urges the Minister to introduce legislation to reduce classes to a size not exceeding 35.”
