BALKAN CLOUD

DRASTIC ACTION BY BULGARIA AGAINST REVOLUTIONARY ORGANISATION Rugby, October 10. Satisfaction is expressed in British circles at the report that the Bulgarian Government has declared its intentions to deal drastically and expeditiously with the Macedonian Revolutionary Organisation responsible for. the recent murder of General Kovatchevitch, Commander of the Jugo-Slav Garrison at Istip, and the attack on the Jugo-Slav border village some fifty miles west of Sofia. The newspapers at Belgrade, as well as at Sofia, indicate that both Governments are anxious not to allow the recent terrorist outbreak to impair their relations, which had shown recent signs of improvement. In London it is earnestly hoped that neither will play into the hands of the Macedonian Revolutionary organisation, whose object obviously is to create tension and prevent the good understanding of which the present Jugoslav Foreign Minister is a convinced advocate.—British Official Wireless. CAPTURED ASSASSIN’S ADMISSIONS BY Telegraph.—Press ASSOCIATION. Copyright. fßec. October 11, 7.30 p.m.) Belgrade, October 10. The assassin of General Kovatchevitch, who was captured, confessed that he and his confederates crossed the frontier on the orders of the Macedonian Committee. Further admissions are not revealed, in the interests of the police inquiry.—A.P.A. and “Sun.” EFFORT TO END BALKAN FEUDS (Rec. October 11, 10.35 p.m.) London, October 11. The “Daily Chronicle’s” diplomatic correspondent states that good may come of General Kovatchevitch’s murder, as the Jugo-Slav protest may be followed by concerted action to suppress the Macedonian revolutionaries responsible for the murder. The Bel*grade and Sofia Governments are already exchanging views in order to put an end to Balkan feuds, which have been recurrent for generations.
