Mr. De Valera in a statement said the Fianna Fail’s attitude to the oath was unchanged. It would refuse allegiance outside allegiance to the Irish nation.—A.P.A. and "Sun.” HIERARCHY’S PASTORAL UNHEEDED (Rec. October 11, 7.5 p.m.) London, October 11. The “Daily Telegraph’s” Dublin correspondent reports that Mr. De Valera’s oath declaration shows that he and his followers do not heed the Hierarchy’s pastoral, which strongly denounced the sin of perjury. Most of the members of the Dail now have been sworn in. It is uncertain how the election for President of the Executive will go. The six members of the Farmers’ Party hold the position in their hands, as between Cosgrave and Mr. De Valera to-morrow.
