CHARGE OF MURDER
AGAINST SON OF RETIRED POLICE INSPECTOR London, October 6. Sidney Goulter, son of a retired police inspector, after examination by the police, was formally charged with the murder of Miss Constance Oliver, whose bodv was found in Richmond Park. Excited women booed and hissed Goulter when he appeared in Court. Long queues formed for two hours before the opening. Emotions waxed so strong that the police smuggled the accused through a side door. A. young man, who drove up in a taxi, accompanied bv a policeman, was immediately rushed threateningly, but the crowd withdrew when they discovered their ■ mistake. Goulter, in the dock, showed every sign of distress; his features were livid, his hands trembling, and his eves downcast. 'The police stated that, after Goulter had been cautioned, he made a statement which was taken down and signed, but not read. The only other evidence was the discovery of the body, including the fact that part of the girl’s clothing, a stocking, and the outside of her right leg, had been burned. Accused was remanded.
