TRANSPORT MINISTRY
OBJECTION TO PROPOSAL;, Bt TELEGEAPn.— Press association Christchurch, October 7, ■The Ashburton County Council to-day endorsed the Dunedin business men’s objection to the proposed establishment of a Transport Ministry’, likewise a resolution regarding the civil service/personnel and retirement. It was also resolved that while the executive was anxious to encourage New Zealand implement makers as far as it could, it considered the time was not opportune to give increased tariff protection to them, as such protection must mean increased costs to the primary producers, who are already carrying more than they can bear.
