PERSONAL ITEMS

The Hon. C. J. Carrington, the Hon. Sir Thomas Mackenzie, the Hon. E. W Alison, and the Hon. G. J. Smith, M.L.C., arrived in Wellington' yesterday from the north.

Dr. Pettit left Wellington yesterday. Messrs. J. S. Barton (Wanganui), A. C. MacKenzie (Melbourne), and J. B. Waters (Dunedin), members of the Royal Commission in regard to Napier Harbour, who have been staying in Wellington, have returned to their respective homes. Mr. Mackenzie will sail for Melbourne by the Ulimaroa from Auckland.

Bishop C. A; Cherrington, Bishop of Waikato, going through from Christchurch, left Wellington by last night’s Limited express.

Mr. E. Bezar, 19 Rititoul Street, has recovered from his recent illness. Mr Bezar is approaching his ninety-second birthdav, and though slightly hard of hearing is still well end hearty.

The New Zealand High Commissioner, Sir James Parr, has returned from 'Belfast, where for the week-end he was the guest of the Duke and Duchess •of Abercorn, states a Press Association message from London. Sir James visited Londonderry, where he was welcomed by the Mayor, and also Limavadv, the birthplace of the Inte Mr. Massey, where lie addressed the children of the school attended by Mr. Massey before migrating to New Zealand.
